Revetment wall in the riverbed of the Mella river
The project
FROSIO NEXT carried out the design and the construction of a revetment wall in the riverbed of the Mella river in order to protect the foundations of some buildings in Gardone Val Trompia (BS).
The project focused on the foundations’ walls of some industrial buildings, also acting as embankment walls, located in the right bank of the Mella river. The embankment walls, characterized by a solid rock structure with good texture, however, was based on a foundation made by boulders bounded by irregular layers of mortar. The foundation of the embankment walls was protected by a revetment wall made by loose boulders, partially eroded over time by the floods of the Mella river.
The project led to the construction of a new revetment wall in order to restore the protection of the foundations. The new revetment wall has been built with boulders bounded by concrete in order to ensure a long-lasting solution.
- In particular, FROSIO NEXT dealt with the following activities:
- Detail design, assistance during tender procedures
- Health and safety coordination during design phase
- Works supervision
